Online NewsletterJuly 2011 – Take This Job and LOVE It!Every day, we do something with most of our day — Something we love or something we hate or something we put up with. I’d like to suggest that whatever we are spending out time on, we should LOVE it! That is, even if it is not what we feel passionate about, we should love what we are doing. Why? Because LOVE is the most powerful force there is.
If we are going to spend 8 hours or more doing ‘something’ every day, why not make the best of it and find a way to Love it? If we can do that, whatever our "job" is may turn out to be different than it was when we complained about it or groused about "who did what to whom" etc. No one likes a whiner. When we can love where we are, we can find ways to improve, to expand, to change and to grow. We will find our relationships becoming better also. Our body will feel better and our general outlook will be better when we feel better. When we are stuck in negativity or blame or feeling sorry for ourselves, we are stuck in a quagmire of our own making. Our mental health suffers. Our relationships suffer and our body suffers. What better way to burst out of that quagmire than to boldly change our attitude in a positive way? Maybe we can’t love everything about our job. Maybe we can find a way to love the birds that sing outside the building as we walk into work. Maybe we can find a way to love the people we work with— or at least, love some of them. Maybe we can find a way to love a project we are involved with. We can surely find a way to love the benefits we receive for dedicating a great deal of our time to our employer. We can surely find ways to appreciate the money we receive that lets us have resources to do other things we love and to spend time with people we love. Our challenge to you this month:
One of our favorite reminders from Emmett Fox: Love that enough love will not conquer; No disease No door No gulf No wall No sin It makes no difference How hopeless the outlook, How great the mistake. A sufficient realization of
love If only you could love
enough
