Descendants of Hudson P. Kidd - Barbara J. Taylor, Editor

Hudson P. Kidd was born about 1785 in Amherst County and died about 1843 in Nelson County, Virginia.  One of Hudson�s sons, Edmund Tucker Kidd (born in 1823) - one of nine children - served in the Mexican War and the Civil War where he survived several months as a POW. 

In the late 1940s, Lorena Kidd (daughter of Edmund T. Kidd) wrote a journal about what she could remember of her grandparents, their family and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  That handwritten journal was passed around the family for many years.  When we received it, we realized what a treasure it was and did a great deal of additional research over 5 years to fill out many details about all the people mentioned and update the family for the hundreds of descendants of Hudson still living.
